Wholesale, Bulk Orders and Sourcing from China: How We Work With Buyers

Two different things get asked about here, and they are worth separating: buying our handmade pieces in quantity, and using us to source something else from China. Both are things we do.

Buying our pieces in quantity

Our catalogue is small by design — pipe cleaner dragons in four length tiers from $159, and twelve knitted animal-ear hats at $96. Because everything is made to order, a wholesale order is not a matter of picking from warehouse stock; it is a production slot.

How it works:

1. Tell us what you want and when you need it. Quantities, colourways, and your sell-by or launch date.
2. We quote. Wholesale pricing depends on quantity and how much customisation is involved. Custom colourways carry a 20% surcharge on dragons.
3. We schedule it as a batch. Larger orders are made as a single run rather than one at a time, which is faster than placing the same number of separate orders.
4. Photos before dispatch. You see the batch before it leaves.
5. Logistics. We pack for volume shipping and can coordinate the freight.

The honest caveat: a pipe cleaner dragon is light but bulky, and volumetric weight drives the freight cost. On larger orders this matters more than the product cost. Ask for a freight quote before you commit — we would rather you knew the landed cost up front.

Using us to source something else

This is a separate service, and it is not limited to what we make. If you are trying to find a product in China and you do not want to navigate it alone, we act as the person on the ground.

We help you:

• Understand the product — what it actually is, what it is made of, what the realistic price is.
• Verify the details — material, specifications, and the claims a supplier makes about them.
• Coordinate delivery — packing, dispatch and shipping, through a logistics provider we can connect you with.

How the sourcing fee works

This is the part buyers ask about most, so we state it plainly:

• You pay the service fee agreed in advance. Agreed before anything starts, not added afterwards.
• Product and shipping costs are listed separately. You see the real product price and the real freight cost as separate line items, with a clear breakdown.
• No exaggeration, no omissions. If we cannot verify something, we say we cannot verify it rather than guessing.

The point of the separation is that you should be able to see exactly what the product costs and exactly what our help costs. If a quote ever arrives as one opaque number, ask for the breakdown.

• We are not a freight forwarder. We coordinate with logistics providers; we do not own the ships.
• We will not claim a factory certification we have not seen.
• We do not quote a price we cannot stand behind later.
