Twelve designs, one price. That is deliberate — we would rather you choose the one you like than the one you can afford. But it does mean the difference between them is worth explaining properly, because the names alone do not tell you much.
All twelve are hand-knitted in a long pile fabric, all are made to order in Fujian with a lead time of around 5 days, and all are $96. Beyond that, they split into two real variables: ear shape and colour mood.
By ear shape

If you are buying for someone who has never worn anything like this, bear ear or the classic Springwood is the safe starting point. If you want it to photograph well, fox ear wins — the height gives a clear shape in pictures.
By colour mood
The names are a decent guide to the palette:
- Snowfall, Milky, Springwood — pale neutrals. Easiest to wear with anything, and the least likely to clash with a winter coat.
- Peach, Maple, Ember — warm. Peach and Maple sit in the soft terracotta range; Ember is the warmer, redder end.
- Tundra, Mossberry, Matcha Berry — muted greens and earthy tones. These are the ones that look best against dark outerwear.
- Blackberry, Violet Butterfly — the deeper, more saturated end. Blackberry is dark and understated; Violet is the boldest thing we make.
Choosing for a face shape
Practical, and nobody talks about it:
- Upright ears (cat, fox) add height. Good if you want to lengthen the silhouette; less good if you already wear your hair very high.
- Rounded ears (bear, wolf) sit closer to the head and soften the outline.
- Lop ears hang, which visually narrows the top of the head. They are also the warmest, because there is more fabric over the ears.
Warmth and wear
These are long-pile knitted hats, not costume. The pile traps air, which is what makes them genuinely warm, and the ear structure is shaped into the knit rather than stitched on afterwards, so it holds its shape through a winter.
Two honest caveats:
- Long pile is not low maintenance. It needs brushing along the pile direction occasionally. It is not a hat you can stuff in a coat pocket.
- They are made to order. Around 5 days before it ships, and as a handmade item it is not eligible for return or exchange.
